DOT'S GREENHOUSE NEEDS YOUR HELP

As most of you know, our 'Container Gardens' are a huge success at the Spring Plant Sale. We have started creating them already but need more containers. Please ask your friends and neighbors to help our cause and donate any that they have. It doesn't matter what size...we have plants that will fit into the tiniest of containers up to the largest ones. The containers can be dropped off at Dot's Greenhouse...just set them inside the greenhouse if no one is there to take them. Someone is always there on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Thanks for your help. Judy Johnson.

Botanical Garden Fun Runs November 28 and 29 – Galaxy Closed to the Public.

The Galaxy Crew has almost finished installing all the displays and are ready for the first presentation the night of the VIP Party.  Linda Brown and Mary Lou Kraatz  have planned a wonderful VIP Party again this year.  The VIP committee never disappoints and always transforms the Arbor into a beautiful wonderland.  Bev Sullivan and Mary Ena Heath will also transform the Arbor in to a special place for the children to visit Santa on walking nights.  Ann Tippie and Deb Wilkie have judged the children’s art work from the schools.  I’m always amazed at the talent of these young artists.  Jerry and Edna Deener, the hot chocolate baristas, have their job down to a science.  Teresa Henderson and Lois Grey, Spirited Coffee, have 2 new coffee makers that will each make ½ gallon in 10 minutes, that’s one gallon an hour! This should be a major improvement for them.  Peggy Patch and Merrie DePierre have cashiers committed.  Marge Hubbard, Irene Mangus and the Luminary Ladies have lined the paths with luminaries.  Carol Casey and Tammy Burke have a dazzling tree planned for the Tinsel Trail in Big Spring Park.  Be sure to visit the Park.

Thanks to all the volunteers who have graciously given their time to make this another successful Galaxy.  A special thanks to the Guild Ladies who have provided delicious lunches for the Crew.  Thank you, Peggy East for organizing this effort.

The following is a list of dates and number of volunteers still needed to cover all shifts:

Tues, Nov 22, 11 volunteers needed
Thurs, Nov 24, 4 volunteers needed
Fri, Nov 25, 7 volunteers needed
Sat, Nov 26, 7 volunteers needed
Fri, Dec 23, 22 volunteers needed

If you are able to volunteer one of these nights please contact Rebecca Harbor-Jones.    Galaxy is a Guild project and our largest fundraiser so it takes many volunteers for it to be successful.

Sharon Cruce, Galaxy Chair
