Planting Roots for A Bright Tomorrow!
Friday, October 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, October 8 from noon to 4 p.m.
Open to the Public on all Days

The Fall Plant Sale, "Keep It Growing," will take place Friday, October 7 and Saturday, October 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A rain date will be Sunday October 9 from noon to 4 p.m. More than ever before, there will be plants, shrubs and trees native to Alabama, and some you can only get at this Garden plant sale. Special attention will be made to ornamentals that attract birds, bees and butterflies. A wide variety of Blue Ribbon Winner plants will be identified throughout the sale. These plants are great for "show" and for the attraction of birds, bees and butterflies. Many of these plants have small, dwarf or miniature versions that suit home landscapes. Three of those plants include Autumn Sage Salvia, Piedmont Azalea, and Buddleja, a butterfly bush species. 150 Chrysanthemum plants will be available. Complementing the plant sale will be the participation of the following Garden Societies: The American Iris Society, The Herb Society, The Hosta Society and The Gourd Patch Society. They will provide an opportunity for shoppers to make purchases and answer questions about each society. Master Gardeners will provide soil testing and speakers for Saturday are Karen Voelker to speak on "Vegetables in the garden year round," and Tamara Huron to speak on "Herbs in the garden year round and how to cook with them."
